Our passion is to breed for health, temperament, and athletic ability. We are not a conformation/show dog kennel. Our dogs are bred purposefully and selected very carefully.  As a veterinarian, of course the health of our dogs and puppies is of utmost importance.

We make sure all our breeding dogs are health tested and pass all tests recommended for the breed by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Our breeding dogs have all been awarded their CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) numbers, indicating all tests were performed.

We are transparent about the health of our breeding dogs and willing to share health info, as this helps everyone stay informed. We post results of the health tests on Berner-Garde (a database for health info on Bernese Mountain Dogs) and on the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) website. We conduct DNA tests on pups shortly after they are born, to confirm they are free of certain inherited traits that are common in Berners.

We take health one step further and provide a two- year health guarantee for our puppies which ensures they are free from congenital defects.

We believe that families that adopt our puppies deserve the absolute best support and education to help make the transition of the pup into their new homes as smooth as possible. We provide ongoing support and advice for our families throughout the life of the dog. We encourage our families to stay connected and we love to receive stories, photos, and videos!
